October is the designated month to build awareness for many causes, and since 2015, dyslexia is one of them.
If you’re like me – every month is dyslexia awareness month. Every day is dyslexia awareness day.
When you’re both a parent with a child who faces challenges due to dyslexia, as well a tutor who has seen the amazing transformation that early and intense intervention yields – you want the whole world to know what dyslexia is. What it looks like. What it isn’t. And most importantly what to do if you suspect it may be the root of your kiddo’s struggles.
Below are a few links that answer the “what should I do?” question.
From Understood …
And this from Reading Rockets
I suspect my child has dyslexia, what should I do?
And, of course, this great series of videos by Barton Reading and Spelling creator, Susan Barton.
So get out there folks! Spread the word. Create and grow awareness. This month and every month.
Every reader needs a champion!
